DISC PROFILING

At Lumley Loveday, we believe in the power of communication and people skills.

Communication connects people, so that we can share ideas, and build relationships. It allows us to express our thoughts and feelings, fostering understanding and empathy. It resolves conflicts, promotes teamwork and collaboration, and drives personal and professional growth.

And, according the World Economic Forum communication skills are among the top 10 skills needed in the workforce by 2025.

But it’s not easy. Communication is more than just what we say – it’s how we say it, and, crucially, how we behave.

To maximise the impact of our communication we need to understand human behaviour. And we do that using DISC psychometric behavioural profiling.

DISC is a tool that allows you to start to understand people in minutes instead of months. To understand the people puzzle and

identify strengths, weaknesses, motivators and drivers, allowing us to communicate effectively and positively influence others.

It's a behavioural profiling tool used by organisations around the globe to understand how individuals are likely to perform and behave at work and to optimise team performance. It’s quick, simple and accurate, and determines innate personality and behavioural preferences in four core areas: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness.

DISC profiling allows us to:

  • Understand how we like to behave and communicate, and why we react in the way that we do;

  • Better understand how people are likely to behave and perform at work, especially when under stress;

  • Gain insight into how our teams work together – their behavioural dynamics – and discover who are the natural thinkers, planners, doers and strategists;

  • Identify blind spots and strengths, at team level and individual level, to improve performance and maximise potential;

  • Reframe ‘difficult’ as ‘different’, helping prevent interpersonal stress and conflict;

  • Boost personal and team development;

  • Improve employee retention and recruit with more insight into how someone may ‘fit’ a given role and how best to integrate them into the team.

Individual DISC profiles

Ever wondered why you clash with some people and click with others? Why it’s easy to communicate your ideas to one person but so hard to explain them to another? Or want to increase your awareness of your own communication strengths and blind spots are?

DISC psychometric personality profiling looks at key personality traits and how these manifests themselves in our behaviour and communication.

The DISC questionnaire is quick and straightforward to complete and generates your unique comprehensive 16-page DISC profile, which we will then go through with you in a 60-minute feedback session.

This session is crucial in helping you to analyse your profile and understand what it means for you. To enable you to:

  • Understand what drives you and how you respond to pressure;

  • Appreciate the impact you have on others and know how to flex your behaviour and communication to build relationships and work effectively with others;

  • Become a stronger, more emotionally intelligent leader;

  • Engage more productively with colleagues and clients;

  • Boost team morale.

Group Dynamics Profiles

Team DISC profiling is a powerful way to help organisations harness the power of their people and become more productive and profitable. As a stand-alone activity or as part of a team workshop, it’s a great way to help individual team members understand themselves and others better and to see how they fit into the team.

Individual team member DISC profiles are combined to create Group Dynamics Profile, which gives leaders and managers powerful and impactful insights into how their team prefers to behave and communicate, and where their strengths and challenge areas are.

Or, if you want to harness the full power of human behaviour and communication to develop your high performing team, our workshops are just the thing you need.

Is your team living up to their potential?

Teams that understand each other deliver results. Teams that understand each other and their clients deliver even better results. High performing teams are non-negotiable for successful organisations.

DISC team workshop

This one-day workshop is designed to get your team to work more effectively together and to understand each other to improve communication, reduce stress and conflict, and maximise individual and team performance.

To turn people from your biggest challenge into your biggest asset, to keep them performing, motivated and engaged, even when times are tough and the pressures on.

This workshop will help you understand who your team really are, at an individual level, so you can develop a more flexible leadership style to help them maximise their potential and talents, and by doing so boost team performance.

Prior to the workshop, we’ll profile your team individually to identify their communication and behavioural preferences, how they approach decision making and tasks, and how they respond to stress.

The individual profiles are then combined to create a Group Dynamics profile, which is shared with the team to help uncover strengths, identify blind spots and overused strengths, and focus on areas of potential and talent.

DISC Certification Workshop

The DISC certification workshop takes a deeper dive into DISC and how you can use it within your organisation.

Once certified, you can administer and understand the profiles yourself. This is great option for organisations who want to develop their own teams, gain an edge when it comes to retention, recruitment and staff development, or who want to offer DISC as a service to their clients.
